Bi-metal engine bearings are a type of plain bearing commonly used in internal combustion engines. They consist of two layers: a steel backing and a lining material, usually an aluminum alloy or a copper-based alloy (like leaded bronze). 

  • Types: Bearings for Connecting Rods, Crankshafts, Flanged Bearings, Trimetal Bearings.
  • Materials: Steel back with Cu-Pb , Al-Sn lining, and white metal lining (Tin & Lead Base). 
  • Plating: SAE 192, Flash: Tin.
  • Applications: Light & Heavy Commercial Vehicle  engines, Two-wheeler engines, Genset Engines, Tractor Engines, Marine Engines, Construction Equipment Engines etc.

Bi-Metallic Strips

A composite material made by joining a Copper or Aluminium alloy with a steel back. We offer strips in Copper-Lead, Aluminium-Tin, Lead-Free, and Babbitt materials such as lead based and Tin based Babbit. We also can develop customised alloys.
